Infections around that occur around the corners of the mouth, called angular cheilitis is also another form of candida infection.

Oral thrush, a form of candida infection found on the mucous membranes of the mouth, is one of the common candidiasis symptoms that are associated with taking antibiotics. It can also be a sign of HIV infection or other immunodeficiency disorders that occurs in adults. Individuals with candida infections are not usually considered infectious to others.Candida is also the most common cause of vaginal yeast infections, which are extremely common and often associated with antibiotics use.

Candidiasis symptoms and signs usually inlcude intense itching, skin lesions or rashes. Skin redness or inflammation. The presence of macule or papule is also another sign. Infected persons may also have what are called satellite lesions which are characterized by smaller lesions next to bigger ones. These lesions can be located on skin folds, in the genital area, trunk, buttocks, and even under the breasts. Infections of hair follicles or what is called folliculitis may have a pimple like appearance.

Proper hygiene is vital to the treatment and prevention of Candidiasis symptoms. Keep the skin dry and exposed to air as much as possible. Obese people are encourage to lose weight to help treat the infection and sugar control in diabetics is encouraged. A variety of topical antifungal medications can be used to treat the infection on the skin. Cutaneous candidiasis is treatable, but occasionally it is difficult to remove. Repeat infections are common in patients.
