Yeast Infection Home Remedies - Have You Tried These Yet?

Home remedies for yeast infections have been around as long as people have been around. Yeast infections come and go and can affect everyone as they do not discriminate against age or gender. Babies and children often get them in the mouth or throat called thrush. People in general can get them anywhere on their skin. Men can get penile yeast infections just as women get vaginal yeast infections. The only difference being that it thrives in the vaginal area, because it is the perfect environment for yeast growth.

Here are a couple of great tips on home remedies for yeast infection:

Garlic
Garlic has antibacterial and antifungal properties and therefore is quite effective on yeast infections as yeast is a fungus. You can insert one garlic clove in the vagina numerous times throughout the day. The garlic will calm the itch and irritation. However, you can also use garlic orally, either through garlic tabs or actual fresh garlic in your food. Garlic tabs have the advantage however, because they do not emit a strong odor that is associated with fresh garlic. Feel free to use as much garlic as you wish, because it is a natural antibiotic.

Apple-cider vinegar
Apple-cider vinegar is known to be very beneficial in many ways. Pour 1 cup of apple cider vinegar into your bath water and soak in it. It will soothe the itchiness and redness, but probably will not do away with the yeast altogether. Do not use it directly on the skin as it burns quite a bit. It will probably kill the yeast, but the pain that would accompany it would not be worth it. Do NOT use white vinegar: white vinegar only feeds yeast.
